Having built up quite the buzz for his directorial debut, the martial arts epic The Man with the Iron Fists, RZA has now attached himself to two further projects, with the rapper-turned-actor-turned-filmmaker set to helm John Milius' (Apocalypse Now) long-in-development Genghis Khan biopic, in addition to the action thriller No Man's Land from screenwriters Trey Ellis (Kamile/Loyal Blue) and Davis Klass (Kiss the Girls).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Genghis Khan will tell the story of the 13th century military genius "from the point of view of Khan's son and grandson", while No Man's Land will centre "on a man who steals a powerful criminal's diamond that soon proves to be far more valuable than initially thought [and] with the help of a dancer, he attempts to stay alive and cash in on the jewel."
Meanwhile, during an interview with We Got This Covered, producer Eli Roth (Hostel) has teased the possibility of a sequel to The Man with The Iron Fists: "RZA and I talked about continuing the story while we were shooting it. We really wanted to write the foundation of something that could continue if we decided to. It was such a great fun, creative collaboration and obviously it depends on how the public likes it, but it is something we’d love to continue."
The Man with the Iron Fists opens in North America on November 2nd ahead of a UK release on December 7th, and sees RZA leading a cast that includes Russell Crowe (Man of Steel), Lucy Lui (Kill Bill: Vol. 1), Cung Le (Dragon Eyes), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and former WWE star Dave Bautista (The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking).
