Game of Thrones won't be back on TV screens until early next year (viewers need that long to recover from the last season's climax), but until then, HBO has spliced together a few shots as part of their 2014 preview trailer. It contains pretty much the same footage as the seven second teaser they released just a few days ago. There are also shots from new and returning series The Leftovers, True Detective, Looking, Silicon Valley, Girls, VEEP, Boardwalk Empire, John Oliver, Vice, The Normal Heart and Olive Kittridge.The trailer also looks back at the HBO shows of 2013 (like Newsroom, Boardwalk Empire, Girls - and even includes a brief voiceover from GoT's Catelyn Stark near the beginning). It's been a good year for television.
The fourth season of Game of Thrones is set to get underway in the Spring, with new additions to the cast including Yuriy Kolokolnikov (Intimate Parts) as Styr, Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) as Tycho Nestoris, Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Gangs of New York) as Mace Tyrell, Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as Oberyn Martell, Indira Varma (Rome) as Ellaria Sand, Struan Rodger (Doctor Who) as the Three-Eyed Raven, Michiel Huisman (Nashville) as Daario Naharis, Dean Charles-Chapman (The White Queen) as Tommen Baratheon, Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane, Octavia Selena Alexandru (Ward 3) as the Child of the Forest and Joseph Gatt (Banshee) in an as-yet-unrevealed mystery role.
