After "teasing" us with the most unrevealing teaser of all-time a couple of days ago, 20th Century Fox has now unveiled the very first trailer for its upcoming simian sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which you can check out right here...
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
The follow-up to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes sees Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) taking over directing duties from Rupert Wyatt, while Andy Serkis returns to the cast as Caesar alongside Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises), Keri Russell (Mission: Impossible III), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In), Enrique Murciano (Black Hawk Down), Kirk Acevedo (The Thin Red Line) and Judy Greer (13 Going on 30).
Now, we've had some huge first look trailers this month (see The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Jupiter Ascending, Godzilla, Edge of Tomorrow and Interstellar), but in terms of most anticipated for next year, I think this might just top the lot for me. What about you? What's your most anticipated movie of 2014? Let us know in the comments below....
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set for release on July 11th 2014.
