Filming on Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's long-awaited sequel to the cult 2005 comic book adaptation Sin City got underway in Austin, Texas on Monday, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Jaime King has signed on to reprise the role of Wendy (the twin sister of murdered prostitute Goldie), while Jamie Chung (The Hangover Part II, The Man with the Iron Fists) will replace Devon Aoki as the katana-wielding assassin Miho.

Based upon Miller's Sin City yarns A Dame to Kill For and Just Another Saturday Night, along with a new story created specifically for the movie, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will see Mickey Rourke (Marv), Jessica Alba (Nancy), Rosario Dawson (Gail) and Michael Madsen (Bob) returning for the sequel. Clive Owen is also expected to be back as Dwight, although "a new top flight actor" is needed to portray the character pre-facial reconstruction surgery. So far the key role of Ava Lord (which was written with Angelina Jolie in mind) remains unfilled, along with "a newly created character named Johnny, a smooth gambler."

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is expected to arrive next year, following the release of another Rodriguez sequel, Machete Kills, which stars the likes of Danny Trejo (Machete), Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon), Amber Heard (Drive Angry), Charlie Sheen (Anger Management), Antonio Banderas (Desperado), Vanessa Hudgens (Sucker Punch), Jessica Alba and Lady Gaga.
