Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) has already hosted the EMAs, appeared in the advertising campaign for the new Dodge Durango and released his fictional autobiography, and the movie still won't be out for another three weeks.
The latest installment in Anchorman 2: The Press Tour Continues saw Burgundy appear on a North Dakota news station at the weekend. Ferrell plays it remarkably straight, reading from the autocue (he reads those out exactly, don't you know) and keeping improvisation to a minimum. It's probably the most real-life representation of the character, especially with the comically mundane VTs to which they throw ('grow your hair' month, a new easy-luggage system and a rubbish truck that caught on fire).
Watch the rather surreal half hour below....
Burgundy will next appear in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which is set for release on December 20th. Adam McKay will direct returning stars Christina Applegate (Veronica Corningstone), Steve Carrell (Brick Tamland), Paul Rudd (Brian Fontana), David Koechner (Champ Kind), Fred Willard (Ed Harken), Chris Parnell (Garth Holladay), Luke Wilson (Frank Vitchard), Vince Vaughn (Wes Mantooth) and Ben Stiller (Arturo Mendez), alongside new cast additions Harrison Ford (Ender's Game), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 2), Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine), and Meagan Good (Think Like a Man).
