The Amazing Spider-Man 2 viral site teases another villain in ShockerIf we trust Sony's viral site for The Daily Bugle, the 2014 sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 may very well contain every villain written into Spider-Man folk lore. A new article concerning a bank robbery hints at what could be an appearance by "Shocker," which would see the villain joining the confirmed Electro, The Rhino and Green Goblin and the rumoured (deep breath) Vulture, Black Cat and Carnage. Check out the latest Bugle article here...

By Ned Leeds, City Bureau

The NYPD are the city’s greatest heroes, but sometimes even heroes are left scratching their heads. For instance, when $200,000 goes missing from the armored vault at G.K. Mason Bank.

Detective Stan Carter of the NYPD Major Crimes Unit was on scene to comment, stating, ”There’s still a lot we don’t know, but it looks like some kind of sustained vibration literally shook the door off its hinges and ripped the walls apart in the process.” Security cameras inside the bank were damaged upon the immediate forced entry of the robber, denying police a clear view of the perpetrator or the means of rupturing the vault.

When asked if the NYPD had concerns that the nature of the crime might indicate heightened super-human activity, Carter said, “There’s no evidence to point to that yet. When we catch him, we don’t expect anything more than a common crook with a clever toy.

This may simply be a ploy to pry the media away from the actual plot of the film but if there is any truth in it, it looks like the next three Spider-Man films are going to be packed with villains.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for release on April 18th 2014 in the UK and on May 1st 2014 in North America with a cast that includes the returning Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker / Spider-Man), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) and Sally Field (Aunt May) alongside Chris Cooper (American Beauty) as Norman Osborn, Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) as Harry Osborn and Colm Feore (Thor), Felicity Jones (Like Crazy), Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis) and B.J. Novak (The Office) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
