Some potentially good news for fans of Game of Thrones... According to IGN, Telltale Games - the company behind the rather excellent The Walking Dead - is rumoured to be developing a new video game based upon HBO's epic fantasy series.
A spokesperson for Telltale - who has built a reputation for adapting various licensed properties as episodic titles, with the likes of Wallace & Gromit, CSI, and Jurassic Park, as well as the upcoming The Walking Dead: Season Two - refused to confirm or deny the reports, stating that, "We get these sorts of rumours about what we could be working on next cropping up all the time. Officially we have no comment."
If true, this wouldn't be the first video game to be based upon George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series; in 2011 Cyanide released the real-time strategy offering A Game of Thrones: Genesis, followed by the RPG Game of Thrones in 2012, while the social network game Game of Thrones Ascent was made available on Facebook earlier this year. Meanwhile development is also underway on a browser based MMORPG entitled Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms.
