Kit Harington promises more deaths than ever before on Game of Thrones season 4

If you've been watching all three seasons of Game of Thrones, you've probably lost count over the number of characters who've met with grisly ends, but we can expect a good few more departures from the cast when the show returns to HBO next year, with Kit Harington (Jon Snow) promising even more bloodshed in season four.

"More deaths this season than any other," says Harington during an interview with Access Hollywood. "You'd think they'd turn the deaths down but they don't. They realize that's a successful option so they're just killing more people than we've ever killed."

Game of Thrones will return in the Spring, with new additions to the cast including Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) as Tycho Nestoris, Joseph Gatt (Banshee) as Styr, Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Gangs of New York) as Mace Tyrell, Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as Oberyn Martell, Indira Varma (Rome) as Ellaria Sand, Michiel Huisman (Nashville) as Daario Naharis, Dean Charles-Chapman (The White Queen) as Tommen Baratheon, and Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane.
