Funny man Zach Braff is returning to the small screen having sold his new comedy series to ABC, the same channel he found success playing the goofy character John Dorian (JD) in the hit series Scrubs. Braff will certainly be hands on with his new show Garage Bar as the single camera comedy will be written, directed and executively produced by the comedy actor.
According to Deadline, the show will centre on a group of friends who start to experience the ups and downs of fame when one of them becomes a pop star. It will not be the first time that the actor has stepped behind the camera; he directed seven episodes of Scrubs as well as his 2004 debut feature film Garden State which starred Natalie Portman (Black Swan, Thor).
Zach has kept a relatively low profile since his feature film directorial debut having not written any material since then; however he can next be seen in Oz: The Great and Powerful, a big budget prequel to The Wizard of Oz directed by Sam Raimi. Oz boasts a host of famous faces such as James Franco (Pineapple Express), Michelle Williams (Shutter Island), Rachel Weisz (The Bourne Legacy) and Mila Kunis (Ted).
