First red band trailer for The Evil Dead remake

It's pretty rare for a remake to have much excitement surrounding it, especially one that's 'reinventing' a cult classic, but Uruguayan filmmaker Fede Alvarez's upcoming Evil Dead reboot seems to be having a real go at bucking that trend.

This might have something to do with the fact that the producing team is made up of Sam Raimi, Rob Tappert and Bruce Campbell - the trio behind 1981's The Evil Dead and its subsequent sequels - or it might have something to do with the positive buzz coming out of the New York Comic Con earlier this month, where the official trailer premiered to a rapturous reception from the fans in attendance.

Either way, any remaining resentment from fans of the Evil Dead series could now be washed away, with Sony and Ghost House Pictures finally releasing the first red band trailer to the internet...


Evil Dead features a cast of up-and-coming talent that includes Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood), Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers), Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield) and Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker), and is due for release on April 12th, 2013.
