Fresh from playing down rumours about him potentially appearing as Robin to Ben Affleck's Dark Knight in Batman vs. Superman, Matt Damon has now reportedly linked up with a former custodian of the Batman movie franchise, with The Playlist reporting that the Elysium star has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's mysterious sci-fi epic Interstellar. According to the site, Damon's role in Interstellar will be small, and he's only expected to be on set in Iceland for two weeks of the four month shoot. The Playlist is also reporting that Damon has lined up his directorial debut with A Murder Foretold, which has been penned by Chris Terrio (Argo) and tells the true story of a man gunned down in Gautemala who leaves a videotape implicating the country's president in his murder.
Interstellar is set for release on November 7th 2014, with a cast that includes Matthew McConaughey (Mud), Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Bill Irwin (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford), David Gyasi (Cloud Atlas), Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games), Mackenzie Foy (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 and 2) Timothée Chalamet (Homeland), Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3), Elyes Gabel (Game of Thrones), David Oyelowo (Jack Reacher), Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist) and Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Trilogy).
