It's been over a year now since director Josh Trank signed on to develop 20th Century Fox's reboot of The Fantastic Four, and so far we've heard very little in the way of news about the studio's plans for Marvel's First Family. But, with its March 2015 release date fast approaching, it shouldn't be too long before we discover which actors will be taking on the roles last portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis.
A few months back it emerged that Trank was keen on his Chronicle star leading man Michael B. Jordan for the role of Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch, and now it seems he may have found his Mr. Fantastic, with The Wrap reporting that the Project X, 21 & Over and The Spectacular Now star Miles Teller is in contention for the group's leader and all-round super-genius Reed Richards.
At just 26 years of age, Teller is considerably younger than you'd expect Mr. Fantastic to be (and looks even younger, it has to be said), so if these reports are true it lends support to the rumours from earlier this year which suggested the reboot would take inspiration from the Ultimate version of the superhero group. And there's also the possibility that they're thinking long term (i.e. sequels) and have decided to go with a young cast who could potentially remain in the roles for many years to come.
The Fantastic Four is currently set for release on March 6th 2015.
