With the “found footage” genre dominating horror movies at the moment it was only a matter of time before king of spoofs Marlon Wayans (writer of the Scary Movie franchise) jumped on board to get a piece of the action. A Haunted House, directed by Michael Tiddes (associate producer on Dance Flick) and written by Wayans, is set for release in January 2013 and Indiewire has unveiled the first look images from the forthcoming movie, which stars Wayans alongside Nick Swardson (Just Go with It), David Koechner (Anchorman), Essence Atkins (Are We There Yet?), Cedric the Entertainer (The Honeymooners), and Dave Sheridan (Horrible Bosses)...

"In an outrageous send up of the Paranormal Activity movies, The Devil Inside and other “found footage” movies, A HAUNTED HOUSE features young couple Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) who have just moved in to their dream house. As they settle in, they quickly find they’re not alone. But it’s not the house that’s haunted, it’s Malcolm’s girlfriend who is possessed by a demon. Malcolm hires everyone from a priest to modern day ghostbusters to rid her of this unwelcome intruder, determined not to let the evil spirit ruin his relationship… or, more importantly, his sex life."

Wayans has certainly carved out a niche for himself relentlessly spoofing movies regardless of genre, including Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, which takes a swipe at the likes of Menace II Society and Boyz n the Hood, as well as Dance Flick, which is a spoof in response to films such as Save The Last Dance and Footloose.
