Ahead of its hotly-anticipated premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, an extended five-minute trailer has been released for Cloud Atlas, Tom Tykwer (The International) and Andy and Lana Wachowski's (The Matrix trilogy) adaptation of David Mitchell's award-winning 2004 novel of the same name.
Cloud Atlas is described as "an exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution." The film features a stellar ensemble cast that includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Hugh Grant, Zhou Xun, David Gyasi, Ben Wishaw, Keith David, Jim Broadbent and James D'Arcy.
