With just over two weeks to go until the release of the latest X-Men spin-off, 20th Century Fox is moving full steam ahead with its marketing campaign for The Wolverine; on Monday we saw a clip of the Bullet Train fight sequence [see here], followed by a 'Logan' featurette yesterday [see here] and now we have a new clip depicting the funeral scene glimpsed in the trailers, which you can check out below....
"Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before."
Update - Thanks to Total Film, we also have a new featurette focussing on the bad guy Harada (Will Yun Lee; Total Recall), who will go on to become the Silver Samurai...
The Wolverine is directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day), with Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by the returning Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, newcomers Rila Fukushima and Tao Okamoto potraying Yukio and Mariko, Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai) as Shingen, Brian Tee (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) as Noburo Mori, Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) as Yashida and Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Viper.
The Wolverine is released in the UK on July 25th and opens in North America the following day.
