Yesterday 20th Century Fox released an action-packed clip from its forthcoming X-Men solo sequel The Wolverine, and now a new featurette has arrived online entitled 'Logan', which features some snippets of new footage from the James Mangold-directed film, as well as comments from Hugh Jackman himself. Here's the official synopsis, followed by the featurette below...
"Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before."
Hugh Jackman is joined in the cast of The Wolverine by Will Yun Lee (Total Recall) as Harada (a.k.a. the Silver Samurai), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai) as Shingen, Brian Tee (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) as Noburo Mori, Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) as Yashida and Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Viper, with newcomers Rila Fukushima and Tao Okamoto potraying Yukio and Mariko and X-Men veteran Famke Janssen reprising the role of Jean Grey.
The Wolverine is unleashed in the UK on July 25th and opens in North America the following day.
