Keira Knightley (Anna Karenina, A Dangerous Method) is in talks to star with Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) in the biopic The Imitation Game. The script for the film was top of the 2011 Black List and it is being directed by Morten Tyldum (Headhunters).
The Imitation Game tells the life story of mathematician Alan Turing, who was responsible for cracking the German "Enigma Code" during World War II, which helped the Allies stave off defeat. He was later prosecuted in the early 1950s for being a homosexual. The film is currently looking for a distributor.
Knightley can next be seen in the comedy drama Can a Song Save Your Life? alongside Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld, and Kenneth Branagh's action film Jack Ryan with Chris Pine and Kevin Costner.
