UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 31st May to Sunday 2nd June 2013...
For the second weekend in a row, Todd Phillips' comedy sequel The Hangover Part III takes top spot at the UK box office, adding £2.92 million despite near-universal negative reviews. Also unchanged are Fast & Furious 6 and Epic in second and third, while Star Trek Into Darkness and The Great Gatsby swap places from last weekend to round out the top half of the chart in fourth and fifth.
In sixth is the week's highest new entry, sci-fi thriller The Purge, which pulled in £1,019,877, followed by another newcomer, comedy The Big Wedding, which opened in seventh with £595,956. Marvel's superhero sequel Iron Man 3 slips two places to eighth, while two more new releases - Bollywood rom-com Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Neil Jordan's vampire thriller Byzantium - debut in ninth and tenth, with £408,491 and £114,339 respectively.
