With a comedic name such as Reilly joining the cast, you'd think that he'd be up for Groot or the voice of Rocket Raccoon. But apparently he is set to play Rhomman Dey, the defeated leader of the Nova Corps on Xandar - which would place him as the human counter contact for the Guardians.
But that's not all, as the magazine's website also suggests that Hugh Laurie (House), Alan Rickman (Die Hard) and Ken Wantanabe (Godzilla) are in line to play his sidekick.
Nothing has been confirmed by Marvel, Reilly or Gunn yet so it's probably best to take this news with a pinch of salt. But what do we think of Reilly being cast?
Guardians of the Galaxy will be the last solo movie stop on Phase Two of Marvel's Cinematic Universe before The Avengers 2. It will feature Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana (Avatar) as Gamora, Dave Bautista (Riddick) as Drax the Destroyer and Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) as Yondu, along with Lee Pace (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) and Ophelia Lovibond (London Boulevard). The movie will be directed by James Gunn and is due for release on August 1st 2014.
