Iron Man 3
We knew it would be big, but did anyone really think it would be this big? After just 25 days on screens, Marvel's Iron Man 3 has become the first film of 2013 to cross $1 billion at the global box office, and only the 16th film in history to achieve that feat.

As of today, the Shane Black-directed solo sequel is now the third biggest comic book movie of all time behind The Avengers ($1.511 billion) and The Dark Knight Rises ($1.084 billion), having surpassed the haul of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, which banked $1.004 billion back in 2008. It looks certain to go on to crack the all time top ten, with tenth place currently occupied by Pixar's Toy Story 3 on $1.063 billion, and could even end up occupying a spot in the top five.

Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as Rhodey / War Machine, Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen, James Badge Dale as Savin, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan and Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin.
