Jurassic Park IV
After more than a decade of waiting, it finally seemed like the long-awaited fourth instalment in the Jurassic Park series was about to become a reality back in March when director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) signed on to helm the eagerly-anticipated sequel. However, this morning brought a flood of rumours about the film's status, and despite an initial denial, Universal Pictures has now confirmed that Jurassic Park IV has been placed on indefinite hold. Here's the official statement from the studio:

"In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history."

So, it seems that Colin Trevorrow remains attached to the film, but at this point there's absolutely no indication about a new release date for Jurassic Park IV, which was originally slated to hit in July 2014. Trevorrow is also attached to a remake of Flight of the Navigator, and should he now turn his attention to that project, it could be some time yet before we return to Jurassic Park...
