Following on from yesterday's story of Alan Ritchson's comments about the Michael Bay produced Ninja Turtles reboot, Deadline is reporting that Danny Woodburn has been cast as the Turtle's sansei, Master Splinter.

Danny Woodburn starred in last year's Mirror Mirror as Grimm. He has had a number of TV roles but is most famous for his portrayal of Kramer's friend Mickey in the classic NBC comedy Seinfeld. Woodburn is no stranger to movies based upon cartoons, having previously appeared in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.

Let's hope this adaptation works out better than that one.

Woodburn now rounds up the main cast which includes Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo and Megan Fox as April O'Neill. Will Arnett will also be in the movie, but his role is being kept under wraps. Ninja Turtles will be directed by Jonathan Liebsman and is set for release June 6th 2014.

The film has had some negative reactions from the fanbase so far, but Ritchson assures us that it's all okay, "I think people assume they know what it's going to be about, and those people are wrong. The assumptions, everything you read online is wrong and it's frustrating because you want to tell everybody how great it is, and you can't really say why, but it is. It's so much better than people think and it's going to look way better than anybody can imagine."
