The Inhumans will become the latest Marvel characters to get the Marvel Knights Animation treatment this month, with Shout Factory set to release a motion comics adaptation of the Eisner Award-winning series from 1998-99 by Paul Jenkins (Hellblazer, The Spectacular Spider-Man) and Jae Lee (The Sentry, Before Watchmen: Ozymandias) on April 23rd in the States.

Check out the synopsis for Marvel Knights: Inhumans, followed by the official trailer below:

"The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel's most enduring oddities. A race of genetic freaks, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigan Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers, some extraordinary, some monstrous. But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt (who cannot speak for his voice carries the destructive power of an atom bomb) repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defense, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt's brother, Maximus the Mad?"

Meanwhile, in other Inhumans news, Bleeding Cool is reporting that Matt Fraction (Fantastic Four, FF) is working on a new Marvel NOW! Inhumans comic, which is said to be influenced by HBO's hugely-successful Game of Thrones TV series and could serve as the basis for a possible future live-action movie: "Spinning out of his current Fantastic Four run, The Inhumans will divide into separate houses, the House Of Medusa, The House Of Maximus, etc, just like the Starks and the Lannisters and the like. Lots of Houses, all over the place in different climates, with a mess of politics, ambition and power between them – super powers. A new era of Inhumans which may also inform a new Inhumans movie. It’s being considered as the Marvel Studios version of The X-Men."
