Original art from classic and modern artists have been gathered to form a series of limited edition publications to honour the iconic Hasbro action figure starting with G.I. Joe: The Complete Collection Vol. 1.  The Black Label edition which is limited to 50 copies will feature the contrib
utions of Herb Trimpe during the 1980s as well as some original artwork.

G.I. Joe is a book that’s close to my heart,” said Trimpe. “It’s great to see how IDW’s handled the title. Their run’s been excellent, and when they decided to launch this limited line collecting the early work that we all worked so hard on, I was thrilled to be chosen to provide art for this special edition. G.I. Joe is a timeless tradition, and drawing these pieces took me back to a different time, when I was a fan and artist who loved these characters deeply.”

250 copies of the Red Label edition will be produced, and signed by Larry Hama and Herb Trimpe; it comes with a special cover and custom slipcase to house 16 issues which span 300 pages.  Along with Hama and Trimpe, fans can look forward to the talents of John Royle to Russ Heath to Mike Hawthorne being honoured with the release of  G.I. Joe: Cobra, The Last Laugh, Danger Girl/G.I. Joe and G.I. Joe: IDW Collection.

G.I. Joe: The Complete Collection Vol. 1 is available for pre-order.
