According to Deadline, Universal are keen to cast Jim Carrey in the cast of the upcoming superhero sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, which is set to begin filming in the next few months under writer-director Jeff Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Never Back Down). Carrey, who is said to be a fan of the Matthew Vaughn-directed original, is being eyed for the character of The Colonel, a costumed crime-fighter who assembles a team of heroes known as 'Justice Forever'. Adapted for Mark Millar's comic book series, Kick-Ass 2 will see the return of Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as The Red Mist, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, Lyndsy Fonseca as Katie Deauxma and Yancy Butler as Angie D'Amico. Newcomers to the cast include Donald Faison (Scrubs) as Doctor Gravity, Robert Emms (Mirror Mirror) as Insect Man, Morris Chestnut (American Horror Story) as Marcus Williams and John Leguizamo (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Javier, the Red Mist's bodyguard.
