Continuing in the cinematic tradition of King Kong vs. Godzilla, Freddy vs. Jason, Aliens vs. Predator, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus and Strippers vs Werewolves comes the latest cinematic showdown, Cockneys vs Zombies, which has just received a great new trailer courtesy of Studio Canal ahead of its release later this month. As you'd expect from the title, Cockneys vs Zombies sees a bunch of east-enders (and one or two former-EastEnders) attempting to fight their way out of a zombie-infested London. Here's the official synopsis, which basically states just that...
"Two hapless cockney brothers try to save their granddad’s care home by robbing a bank. At the same time, a virus sweeps across East London turning all the inhabitants into flesh eating zombies. They end up fighting their way out of a zombie-infested London, led by an unlikely gang of amateur banks robbers and foul-mouthed plucky pensioners. The undead are brown bread."
Directed by Matthias Hoene (Beyond the Rave), Cockneys vs Zombies stars Michelle Ryan (EastEnders), Honor Blackman (Goldfinger), Harry Treadaway (Control), Georgia King (One Day), Alan Ford (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells) and Richard Briers (The Good Life).
