Arnold Schwarzenegger gets his Hollywood comeback underway this month alongside the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis as part of the explosive action ensemble The Expendables 2, before returning to familiar top-billing territory in January as he headlines South Korean director Kim Jee-woon's (I Saw the Devil) US debut, the action-comedy The Last Stand.
The Last Stand sees Arnie as Ray Owens, a former L.A. cop now resigned to fighting minor crimes as Sheriff of the sleepy border town of Sommerton Junction - until a notorious drug kingpin escapes FBI custody and makes a break for Mexico that is, at which point it's down to Owens and his ramshackle deputies to make a 'last stand' against the crime-lord and his army of gang members.

Joining Schwarzenegger in the cast of The Last Stand are Johnny Knoxville (Jackass), Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Eduardo Noriega (The Devil's Backbone), Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Genesis Rodriguez (Casa de mi Padre), Luis Guzman (The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3), Rodrigo Santoro (300), Peter Stormare (Fargo) and Harry Dean Stanton (Alien).
The Last Stand is scheduled for release in North America on January 18th and arrives in the UK the following week.![]()
