Judge Dredd will be heading to the West Coast in a new miniseries authored by Eisner Award-winning journalist Douglas Wolk (Reading Comics), illustrated by Ulises Farinas (Transformers: Heart of Darkness), and coloured by Ryan Hill.

"Ulises, Ryan and I are going to show you a vision of Dredd’s world that you’ve never seen before," stated Wolk. "We’re yanking the East Coast’s toughest lawman out of his element, and plunging him into the bizarre, sunlit depths of post-apocalyptic California. There’ll be studio stars and cycle cultists, cartoon predators and beachfront terrors—plus, of course, ultraviolence, musical numbers and the occasional thrill-powered salute to Joan Didion."

“Mega-City Two remains a criminally underexplored facet of Dredd's world,” remarked 2000A.D./Rebellion Editor-in-chief, Matt Smith, “and Doug and Ulises are having a ball crafting an environment, not only geographically, but ideologically the opposite of MC-1. Dredd is the proverbial fish out of water, and a lot of the fun comes from seeing that East Coast mentality clash with the laid-back attitudes of MC-2. Dredd fans shouldn't miss this really quite unique miniseries.”

Mega-City Two: City of Courts which will feature homage variant covers that pay tribute to iconic films along with art by Joe Corroney, NAR!, and E.J. Su arrives in 2014.

What would happen if a classic monster met a notorious serial killer?  Steve Niles who created the vampire tale 30 Days of Night with artist Ben Templesmith will be exploring the concept in a new comic book series titled Monster & Madman.

A lost soul, Frankenstein’s monster seeks refuge from his waking life but finds no comfort in the bitter harshness of his surroundings. He sets out to free himself from his lonely isolation and during this journey he finds himself at the doorstop of a creature more sinister than he could have imagined, the madman, Jack The Ripper.

“Niles reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne,” stated Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief.   “In the same way that Ozzy was always finding great new guitarists to bring his macabre visions to life, so too is Niles always finding amazingly talented and dynamically creepy new artists to bring his dark fantasies to life.”

"I think this is the 5th or 6th time I've used the Frankenstein Monster in a story,” noted Niles.  “I've always been fascinated with Mary Shelley's creation and I've found the creature lends himself to all sorts of new stories," says Steve Niles, "There were eleven White Chapel Murders. Only five of them were attributed to Jack the Ripper. I became obsessed with the idea of a ‘what if’ situation where these two monsters crossed paths.”  Niles will be teaming with Damien Worm who will be pencilling, inking, colouring the covers as well as the interior pages.   “I'm very excited to be working with Damien. He has that dark edge to his art I love for horror stories. I'm constantly impressed with just how macabre his images can be."

Monster & Madman debuts in March 2014.
