Hayao Miyazaki's 1989 animated classic Kiki's Delivery Service is getting the live-action treatment next year (without the involvement of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, it should be noted) and a new Japanese trailer has been released, which features the first footage from the upcoming fantasy.
Based upon the first two novels of Eiko Kadono's book series, Kiki's Delivery Service (a.k.a. Majo no Takkyuubin) tells the story of a young witch called Kiki who has to take part in a rite of passage after coming of age, setting out to live on her own for a year and using her magical powers to earn a living.
Check out the trailer here. It's in Japanese unfortunately. And there are no subtitles...
Kiki's Delivery Service is set for release in Japan on March 1st, 2014.
