Last month it was rumoured that Telltale Games - the publisher behind the rather splendid video game adaptation of The Walking Dead - was turning its attention towards Westeros for a game based upon HBO's hit fantasy series Game of Thrones. Well, Telltale has now confirmed the reports, posting on Twitter that, "It's TRUE! We're working with HBO to create an all-new episodic game series based on GAME OF THRONES in 2014!"

"We'll be taking advantage of all the fiction to make something great," says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. "We're just really getting into it right now and thinking about characters - who has the most at stake, who has the biggest impact on the world."
This is definitely good news for fans of Game of Thrones, and if The Walking Dead is any indication, this new title should have little trouble banishing the ghost of the rather disappointing Game of Thrones RPG from Cyanide, which was based upon George R.R. Martin's novels, as opposed to the TV show.
