After scoring a big success with The Bible miniseries, The History Channel is now turning its attention to the New Testament for a series exploring the undocumented years of Jesus' life, with the cable network is in talks writer Scott Kosar (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Eli Roth (Hostel) and Eric Newman (The Thing) for The Lost Years.
If there's a strong horror connection there, it's no coincidence. According to Deadline, The Lost Years will portray Jesus in "a controversial light" and has been "conceived in the horror genre, and it explores a theory about Jesus' origins as an exorcist." That is of course familiar ground for Roth and Newman, with the duo having produced The Last Exorcism and its sequel The Last Exorcism Part II.
