Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for director Noam Murro's (Smart People) 300: Rise of an Empire, the sequel to Zack Snyder's sword and sandals epic 300. Based upon Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes, Rise of an Empire takes the action to a fresh battlefield - the sea - as the Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite Greece against the invading Persian forces of Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro).
In addition to Stapleton and Santoro, 300: Rise of an Empire sees Lena Headey (Gorgo) and David Wenham (Dilios) returning to the cast, while new additions include Eva Green (Dark Shadows) and Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans). The script has been written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, with Snyder also serving as producer.
