First viral teaser for Guillermo del Toro's The Strain

FX has released the first viral teaser video for The Strain, the upcoming vampire horror series from Carlton Cuse (Bates Motel) and Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim), based upon del Toro and Chuck Hogan's book trilogy of the same name. The teaser aired during the midseason finale of The Walking Dead on Sunday evening, and you can check it out below...

The Strain stars Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, a scientist at the CDC who is investigating a mysterious viral outbreak bearing the hallmarks of vampirism, which rapidly spreads, leaving mankind in a fight for survival. Also featuring in the cast are David Bradley (Game of Thrones), Kevin Durand (Fruitvale Station), Mia Maestro (Alias), Jonathan Hyde (Titanic), Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings), Richard Sammel (Inglourious Basterds), Doug Jones (Hellboy) and Robert Maillet (Pacific Rim).


The Strain is set to begin on FX next year.
