"Zooey (Collette) and Alec (Gruffudd) are struggling to heal the wounds caused by the death of their 5 year old son, several years ago. The couple are unable to conceive and so begin the process to foster a child. Then one day a boy named Eli mysteriously appears on their doorstep, explaining that the foster agency sent him. Eli is old beyond his years and offers moral support and suggestions to his foster parents on how to repair and rekindle their love for each other and the couple slowly begin to rebuild their foundations until they find the love they once had for each other. Then Zooey miraculously discovers she has conceived. Thrilled but sensitive to how the foster son she adores will take the news, Zooey goes to tell Eli but he has mysteriously disappeared, leaving only a letter on his bed. Furthermore the agency have no record of the child. It appears he never existed........ "
