We are very sad to report the news that Paul Walker has passed away in a tragic car accident in Southern California, aged just 40. Walker, who was best known for his role as Brian O'Conner in the blockbuster Fast & Furious series, was traveling as a passenger in a friend's car to attend a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide when it crashed on Saturday afternoon, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirming that that both driver and passenger were killed at the scene.
Born in Glendale, California in 1973, Walker began his career as an infant appearing in television commercials, as well as appearing in a number of television shows in the 1980s. In 1998, he appeared in the comedy Meet the Deedles, leading to supporting roles in the likes of Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, She's All That and The Skulls before enjoying his breakthrough in 2001 alongside Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious. He would go on to appear in four of the subsequent sequels, as well as the currently-in-production Fast & Furious 7, while his other film credits include Joy Ride, Into the Blue, Running Scared, Flags of our Fathers and Takers.
Flickering Myth would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of Paul Walker at this sad time.
