During the UBS Global Technology Conference Blake Jorgensen talked about the upcoming Star Wars video game titles. People were curious if there would be an EA Star Wars game to accompany the movie coming out, with Jorgensen revealing that there are no plans to develop a tie-in: "We’ve done movie games over the years and we wanted to make sure that we weren’t doing a movie game, i.e., game based on the movie. The beauty of the Star Wars franchise is that it's so broad and so deep, you don’t have to do a movie game, you can do a game that's very focused on the world that's been created around Star Wars."
Personally, I think this is good news. Video games traditionally take much longer to create than movies, so by the time a video game studio has something to base a game off, there's not enough time to do it properly. How do you feel about the news? Let us know in the comments below...
