Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son) is in final talks to play Aaron Foley, son of Eddie Murphy's character Axel Foley, in the new Beverly Hills Cop TV series.
CBS has already given the green light for a pilot and according to Humormill the rising star is close to agreeing to terms to headline the TV version of the iconic 1984 hit movie of the same name starring Murphy, Judge Reinhold (Vice Versa) and John Ashton (Gone Baby Gone).
The new television show will centre on Aaron Foley, a Beverly Hills police officer trying to make a name for himself in the shadow of his legendary father. Eddie Murphy is set reprise his character Axel Foley and will feature in the pilot episode as the now the chief of police in Detroit. It is believed that if the show does get a full series commissioned that Murphy will have a recurring role.
Shawn Ryan penned the script for the pilot which means the show is definitely in good hands due to his previous work on the brilliant police dramas such as The Shield and Chicago Code. Ryan will also executive produce alongside Eddie Murphy.
