In case you somehow missed it, in an event that made the Internet give a collective "awww", four-year-old Miles, a boy in remission from leukemia, got to be Batkid for a day thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and now Batmans past and present Christian Bale and Ben Affleck have both responded positively, showing their support for Miles.
Bale had this to say in an interview with Vulture:
"Wasn't that fantastic? I looked on the news and I saw this headline and thought, 'What's that?' And I saw all the pictures of him running around and saving people. It's so touching. He must have been bewildered! Hopefully, later on, he'll be able to look back and say, 'Oh my God, how amazing.' I've never been on Twitter, but how great a thing that it can create something like that! I mean, wonderful. This little kid, oh my god... what a wonderful day for the little fella! It's just fantastic, seeing all those people who were out there to support it."
And Bale's successor under the cape and cowl, Ben Affleck, tweeted: "Batkid. Best Batman Ever".
As if there was a need for another reason to like these two incredibly talented and charismatic artists. With any luck maybe we'll see Batkid in Batman vs. Superman... Okay, maybe that's stretching, but I doubt this is the last we'll hear about Batkid though, which I think is great.
