Neil Marshall is currently in Ireland directing the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones season four, but Deadline has revealed that the British filmmaker will soon be turning his attention to another fantasy, with the Dog Soldiers and The Descent director set to helm a remake of the fantastic 2010 Norwegian film Troll Hunter.
Directed by André Øvredal, Troll Hunter - or Trolljegeren, to give it its original title - is a found footage mockumentary which follows a group of students who set off into the Norwegian wilderness hoping to make a documentary about a bear poacher, who actually turns out to be a professional troll hunter.
The English language remake will be Marshall's first feature since 2010's Centurion, and is being produced by Harry Potter and Percy Jackson duo Christopher Columbus and Michael Barnathan along with original producers John Jacobsen and Sveinung Golimo. Marshall will also rewrite the script, which was originally adapted by Marc Haimes.
