After the departure of Len Wiseman (Total Recall) a couple of months back, Universal Pictures now appears to have finished its search for a new director to take on the proposed reboot of The Mummy franchise, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Mama helmer Andres Muschietti is in talks for the studio's latest adaptation of the horror classic.
The as yet Untitled Mummy Reboot has been written by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) and is described as an "action-adventure tentpole with horror elements" which is switch the action from the early 20th century to the present day. Sean Daniel will once again produce alongside Star Trek Into Darkness duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (so don't criticise it in any way, or Orci might tell you to "f*ck off").
