Yesterday Disney announced that it has moved up the release of Marvel's first Phase Three offering Ant-Man from November 2015 to July 2015, and now the studio has made another scheduling change with one of its forthcoming sequels, pushing back the Johnny Depp-headlined Pirates of the Caribbean 5 to summer 2016 due to issues with the script.

"We have an outline everyone loves but the script is not done," producer Jerry Bruckheimer tells The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that the box office failure of this year's The Lone Ranger has made everyone involved with the production more cautious about the budget for the fifth instalment in the Pirates series. "It's all a factor. We want a script that everyone’s signed off on and a budget that everyone’s signed off on."

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is to be directed by Kon-Tiki filmmakers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, with screenwriter Jeff Nathanson currently busy rewriting the script from his original outline. Of course, Disney still has plenty on its slate for 2015, with the aforementioned Ant-Man joined by The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars: Episode VII and Pixar's Inside Out.
