Last week it was revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek Into Darkness) had pulled out of Guillermo del Toro's gothic ghost story Crimson Peak, and now Legendary Pictures has announced that Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World) has signed on to replace his fellow Brit in the cast of the haunted house tale.
Filming on Crimson Peak is set to get underway in January, with Hiddleston joining a cast that includes Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim, Fifty Shades of Grey), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Stoker) and Burn Gorman (The Dark Knight Rises, Pacific Rim).
Crimson Peak is currently set for release in April 2015.
