With Disney, Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams all remaining tight-lipped about their upcoming trip to a galaxy far, far away, the Star Wars: Episode VII casting speculation train continues to roll on, with Jedi News - the site originally behind the Emperor Palpatine rumours - claiming that Liam McIntyre (Spartacus) has read for a Jedi role, while the appropriately named Ksenia Solo (Black Swan) is apparently under consideration for the daughter of Han and Leia.
Over the past few months there's been a ridiculous amount of speculation over potential additions to the first chapter of the Sequel Trilogy, with Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) and Ewan McGregor (Obi Wan Kenobi) all rumoured as returning, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Dracula), Leonardo DiCaprio (Django Unchained), Ryan Gosling (Only God Forgives), Zac Efron (High School Musical), Rachel Hurd-Wood (Soloman Kane) and Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four) allegedly on (or having been on) Lucasfilm's radar. Meanwhile just this week it was reported that Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) was on the verge of being announced in a major role, only for his reps to immediately shoot down the story.
Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled for release some time in 2015.
