Justified star Walton Goggins is developing a new series about the world of Mexican drug cartels for Fox titled Gringo. Goggins is teaming up with writer Adam Fierro (The Shield) to help develop the series.
The story is set to revolve around an American cop who moves south of the border with his Mexican wife and gets caught up in the cartel wars. Both Goggins and Fierro co-wrote the story and will serve as executive producers on the series.
Goggins has always been a very underrated actor so it’s good to see him branch out and get into creating his own series, which I would love to see him be the star. You can currently catch Walton Goggins as the ruthless Boyd Crowder on the FX series Justified but you might know him best as Shane Vendrell from The Shield. Adam Fierro has written not only for The Shield but also has credits for The Walking Dead, Dexter and 24.
