Having been pushed back from its original release date of March this year, Screen Gems' Carrie remake is finally gearing up for release in just over six weeks from now, and the studio has just released a new trailer for the latest adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror, which sees director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry) directing Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass 2) in the title role. If you've not read the book or seen the original then the trailer is pretty spoilery, but then again, so's the official synopsis...

"The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Julianne Moore; Magnolia) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Judy Greer; The Descendents) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Portia Doubleday; Youth in Revolt), but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell (Gabriella Wilde; The Three Musketeers), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (Ansel Elgort; Divergent), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc."

Carrie is set for release in the States on October 18th and opens here in the UK on November 29th.
