It looks like Mystery Incorporated is heading back to the big screen, with Variety revealing that Warner Bros. has given the green light to a new Scooby-Doo feature film from Charles Roven (Man of Steel) and Richard Suckle (American Hustle), the producing team behind the 2002 original and it's 2004 sequel Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed.
Unlike the first two movies - which starred Freddie Prinze Jr. (Fred), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), Linda Cardellini (Velma) and Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) - the new feature is set to be wholly animated and is being written by Matt Lieberman, screenwriter of the forthcoming Short Circuit reboot.
The new movie isn't the only animated Scooby-Doo feature in the works, with the crime-solving Great Dane and his pals also heading to WrestleMania for a WWE crossover featuring a host of superstars from the WWE universe including Triple H, John Cena, Kane, The Miz, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, AJ and Vince McMahon.
