Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, There Will Be Blood) has just finished shooting his latest film, Inherent Vice. It's based on the Thomas Pynchon novel of the same name and stars previous player Joaquin Phoenix (The Master, Walk The Line) as Larry Sportello, a stoner detective working on an important case.

Anderson is a fan of the unedited take, as his previous work shows, so you'd have to assume this set-up was constructed for a very long tracking shot. Mouth watering stuff for the slow and steady.
Inherent Vice is currently expected for the Autumn of 2014, and also stars Benecio del Toro (Guardians of the Galaxy), Owen Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums), Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde), Josh Brolin (Gangster Squad) and Sean Penn (Mystic River).
