If rumours are to be believed, the first chapter in Disney's eagerly-anticipated Star Wars sequel trilogy could be set to see a shift from the saga's traditional May release date, with Badass Digest quoting "multiple sources" who've apparently told the site that Disney and Lucasfilm are eyeing a mid-December 2015 release date for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII.
Although these reports are unconfirmed at present, a late-2015 release would certainly appear to make sense; Abrams has previously indicated that he could struggle to complete the sequel by 2015, while Disney is also set to unleash Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron in May. Obviously the studio wouldn't want it's two big moneymakers to cut into each other's takings, and a December date has certainly worked wonders for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings / Hobbit films, not to mention a little film called Avatar.
