The effects of war are explored in the latest collaboration between Alex Kot and Image Comics which will feature a new artist with each issue of Zero.
Secret agent Edward Zero is a sociopath who solves problems with violence, a perfect execution machine; he’s built his life around certain principles, but Zero is the story of what happens when his carefully maintained systems break down and Zero must fight not just a war out in the world but one within himself as well.
“War is a disease and it seems that a large part of humanity is obsessed with it,” stated Kot in an interview the Multiversity Comics. “I’ve seen, first-hand, what kind of damage war inflicts on people, and how often the wounds become obscured as the decades progress.”
The first instalment illustrated by Michael Walsh (Comeback) deals with a bioengineered terrorist who has turned his body into a bomb. Subsequent stories will be drawn by Mateus Santolouco (Dial H), Morgan Jeske (Change), Tradd Moore (The Strange Talent of Luther Strode), and Tonci Zonjic (Where is Jake Ellis?) as well as coloured by Jordie Bellaire (The Manhattan Projects).
Zero #1 which features variant covers by Becky Cloonan and Chris Burnham arrives in September 2013 and is available for pre-order in the July issue of Previews.
