Sony has released a new batch of production stills from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with a few images of Paul Giamatti's Aleksei Sytsevich, Jamie Foxx's Maxwell Dillon and Marvel legend Stan Lee joined by a shot of producer Avi Arad which teases - or should that be "spells out" - the possible introduction of The Sinister Six.
Meanwhile, during a chat with Hollywood Outbreak, Andrew Garfield has briefly spoken about the film, promising that it will deliver "more fun" than its predecessor: "We get to build on a foundation we set with the first one. We get to really expand and explore. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci wrote something layered and rich and full of twists and turns and dimensions. I think it's going to be a much more fun picture."
"In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen, high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sees Garfield (Peter Parker / Spider-Man), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) and Sally Field (Aunt May) reprising their roles from last year's reboot, while Paul Giamatti and Jamie Foxx are joined by fellow newcomers Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) as Harry Osborn and Chris Cooper (American Beauty) as Norman Osborn, along with Colm Feore (Thor) and Felicity Jones (Like Crazy), whose roles are yet to be revealed.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 2nd, 2014.
